Mission

Every surface has a story.

Herehood puts local artists’ work on the walls of cafes, shops and studios near them, and lets the people who see it there buy it. Artists keep 90% of a sale; Herehood takes 10% and charges artists nothing else.

Why Herehood.

Plenty of local artists have work and nowhere affordable to show it. Plenty of cafes and shops have bare walls. Herehood introduces them, for free.

Every artist gets a fair turn to be seen — it’s built into how pages are ordered.

Artist dignity

Artists are paid for their work. Never “exposure”.

Revenue and the Community Fund are published every year.

The work stays in the neighbourhood that made it.

Generosity

A free account is a full account. That won’t change.

A volunteer Community Advisory Board of artists, business owners and art lovers will decide how the Community Fund is spent. The first Board will be appointed as Herehood grows; nominations will be open to everyone on Herehood.
