Pricing
We believe in complete transparency about our revenue model. Here is exactly what we charge, who pays, and why.
The core rule: artists never pay to participate.
Creating an account, uploading artwork, browsing spaces, connecting with businesses, and being discovered are all permanently free for artists. This is a binding commitment in our Ethics Code, not a marketing claim. If Herehood ever charged artists for visibility, access, or community participation, we would be extracting value from the people we are here to support. We will not do that.
When art sells
When an artwork sells through Herehood, we take a 10% platform fee. The artist receives approximately 90% of the sale price, minus standard Stripe payment processing fees (around 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction).
No commission is charged on display arrangements. If an artist's work is displayed and no sale occurs through the platform, Herehood earns nothing.

We publish our revenue model publicly because we believe the community deserves to know how the platform is funded. If you see anything that does not add up, tell us.

Community Fund
20% of all corporate revenue funds the Herehood Community Fund — governed by a Community Advisory Board of artists, business owners, and community members. The Fund supports micro-grants for emerging artists, free events, education programmes, and neighbourhood art projects.
Any revenue that exceeds our stream-specific quarterly caps also flows to the Fund. We set caps because we believe platform success should benefit the community, not just accumulate with the platform.

Our model is designed to be simple and transparent. If any part of it is not, we want to know.
